I went for a vacation in the island of Paros, and instead of going to the beach i met a local ceramist called Stelios Gkikas. I caught with him in the burning hot sun after he had finished working, and sat down for a glass of wine and talk about Yria, pottery, Picasso, politics, creativity and the place Paros.

The Greek Protests
During the protests of May June 2011 in Athens we were there it felt like something was changing.
There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning ....
And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting—on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave ....
